Wait! It's OK. Yes he has baggage and yes he's a little past his prime but that doesn't mean it won't work. To understand the decision you have to think of what the Bengals are trying to accomplish. He is not going to be there number one running back. Right now he is there number four running back. He is a big strong back that will be great for third and short and could possibly work his way up to a number two running back but only if he looks great.
There are two reasons I believe this is a great decision. One, They are playing him practically nothing so if it doesn't work out they can either drop him or make him sit on the bench. Two, it keeps teams like the Steelers or other play-off teams from signing him and so they don't have to face him. He has skill, you can't say he doesn't. At very least he'll have a great game in week sixteen verses his former team and you can rest your stud Benson going into the play-offs.
Larry Johnson was a steel and just watch, this could be a huge help to the Bengals in their pursuit of a championship. Zach Collaros is one of the two quarterbacks that is good enough to start at the University of Cincinnati. Tony Pike started the season at QB and looked good. But after this season he is gone(He's a senior). Collaros is only a Sophomore. He has two more years to get better and better. Right now He's got 10 TDs and only one INT. We know that Vince Young can't throw but he wins. He is the spark this team needs and with the next two games coming up against less than great teams(49ers and Bills) the Titans can very easily go to 3-6. After that they face to good but streaky teams so I think they could win one of those games to get to 4-7. They lose to the Colts but finish the season with a very winnable schedule(Rams, Dolphin, Chargers, Sea hawks). After there four game winning streak they end the season at a respectable 8-8. Unfortunately thay would not get you to the play-offs this year with teams like the Texans and Bengal/Steelers/Ravens looking to take the wild card spot. Yes even though the Titans lost their first six games I AM PREDICTING an 8-8 year. The Browns have no real QB. Sorry but Quinn is on the way out and Anderson was a one hit wonder. So picture this. During the off-season the Eagles put Vick on the trading block (McNabb wants him gone). Now that the Eagles already got the brunt of the dog fight back lash more teams will be interested in Vick. One of which should be the Browns(Once owner Rany Lerner has a two hour consult with the fans he'll decided to do it). The Browns offer a 3rd round draft pick and the Eagles take it. That will give the horrible Browns a QB that can help them win maybe 5 or 6 games next year and sell ticket while they look for or draft and groom a QB for the future. Even if Vick is horrible he would be an improvement. I think that if the Browns could win 6 games next year it would defiantly be a sweet deal for them because if they draft another QB early and put him in right away he won't succeed. He at best could win 3 or 4 games and go into the same oblivion as Quinn. Browns, give Vick next year, sell tickets, and prepare for 2011. Those people would be WRONG! This week's game of the week is the Texans @ Colts. "Why?" you ask. First it is an divisional game. These teams know each other. They know what needs to happen to get the win and they're going to pull out all the stops to get the win.
Surprising fact: We all think of Payton Manning's Colts as being the best offence in out side of New Orleans but they have actually scored less points than the Texans. OK, it's only a one point difference but it shows that the Texans offence is for real.
It's the defences that are different. The Texans allow almost twice the number of points as the Colts. However in the first three games Houston allowed 86 of those points. So there defence is improving.
Andre Johnson is the best receiver in the NFL I'm not even sure if Colt's safety Bob Sanders can stop him.
I predict a shot out. Payton will look good but Schaub will look even better. Johnson will have 2 touchdowns and this will go down as the biggest win in the Houston Texans Short history.
